Cleanings

Regular cleanings are crucial to maintaining the health of your teeth and gums. Dentists call these cleanings a prophylaxis.

They are preventative cleanings that involve removing plaque and calculus from the visible part of the tooth known as the crown. This type of cleaning differs from scaling and root planing which is a more extensive cleaning for those with periodontal disease.

dental_crown_bridge

Crowns & Bridges

Dental crowns and bridges are fixed appliances that protect and restore teeth. We use crowns and bridges to correct the appearance and function of broken teeth, missing teeth, severe decay or other major problems.

dental_implants

Dental Implants

Dental implants are titanium screws that are placed into the bone and restored with a dental crown. If you have severely damaged or missing teeth, implant restorations can restore those areas to ideal function. We work with top specialists in the area to place and restore implants.

dental_dentures

Dentures

There are two types of dentures. Complete dentures that are used to replace all the upper and/or lower teeth where there are no teeth remaining. And partial dentures, which are removable dental appliances that replaces multiple missing teeth. Partial dentures can be attached to the existing teeth with clasps and rests.

Dentures will occupy the space left by missing teeth and give you a full, natural-looking smile. Both types of dentures will make it easier for you to chew and will prevent your face from appearing saggy or collapsed by supporting your lips and cheeks. For many people implant-supported dentures are also a good option for additional stability.

dental_root_canal

Endodontics (Root Canal Treatments)

At Hollis Family Dental we perform routine endodontic procedures. We call this a root canal therapy. Root canals are essential to remove the sources of infection in teeth that are often the cause of pain or swelling.

The periodontium which consists of the bone and gums are the support for your teeth. At Hollis Family Dental we put a focus on keeping the foundation for your teeth healthy and strong.

We provide periodontal care with probing, irrigation, scaling, and root planning as needed. Scaling and root planing, often called a deep cleaning, consists of cleaning not only the crowns of the teeth but underneath the gums along the roots of the teeth to remove calculus.

dental_sealants

Sealants

We often recommend sealants which are designed to help prevent decay in certain areas of the mouth. Sealants are made of acrylic-like material that is bonded to the chewing surface of the teeth. They are most often recommended for children, and are usually applied to the permanent teeth as they come in.

dental_veneers

Veneers

Veneers are thin, custom-made laminates of tooth colored material designed to cover the front surface of teeth. Veneers are bonded to the teeth changing their color, shape, size or length. Veneers can correct many aesthetic concerns people have with their teeth.
